Dr Kundan Aryal, Department Head at CDJMC, during the Trans-Himalaya Communication & Social Development Conference, 2024, jointly organized by the School of Public Administration at the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC) and the Department of Languages and Mass Communication, School of Arts, Kathmandu University says, “Communication technologies can turn into a double-edged sword if not used responsibly. These tools must be leveraged for the benefit of the people in the Himalayan region, which is home to diverse civilizations."

Likewise, when practised responsibly and with accountability, international and intercultural communication can accelerate and energize Trans-Himalayan cooperation, shaping a shared future that benefits all of us in the region, he adds.
